Abstract
हिन्दी साहित्य में आत्मकथा विधा उत्तम विधा मानी गयी है। पुरुष आत्मकथाओं की अपेक्षा महिला आत्मकथाओं को अधिक लोकप्रियता प्रदान की गयी है इसका कारण यह है कि महिलाएँ पुरुषों की अपेक्षा अध् िाक संघर्षशील जीवन गुजारती हैं। प्रायः यह आदिकाल से देखा गया है कि महिलाओं की भाषा अत्यंत सरल, सीधी, मनमोहक तथा मधुर होती है इसीलिए महिलाओं को मनमोहिनी की संज्ञा प्रदान की गयी है। जब दिन भर का पुरुष थका-हारा अपने नीड़ में प्रवेश करता है, तब नारी उसके स्वागत में अपनी बाहें बिछा देती है जिससे पुरुष अपनी दिनभर की थकान भूलकर नारी के आगोश में समाकर अकथनीय सुख की अनुभूति करता है। नारी के इस प्रेम समाकर अकथनीय सुख की अनुभूति करता है। नारी के इस प्रेम में आत्मतत्व की मात्रा अधिक पायी जाती है और जब यह आत्मतत्व शब्दों के माध्यम से प्रस्फुटित होता है तब आत्मकथा की निर्मिति होती है। साहित्य की किसी भी विधा में भाषा-शिल्प का होना अत्यंत आवश्यक है। अनुचित एवं अयोग्य भाषा-शिल्प रचना को भी अयोग्य कर देता है। कहावत है कि ‘फलां जब बोलता है तब मानों फूल झरते हैं’। इससे यह सिद्ध होता है कि भाषा ही व्यक्ति को संसार में पर्वत से भी ऊँचे स्थान पर आसीन कर देती है। हिन्दी साहित्य के इतिहास में महिला आत्मकथा भाषा-शिल्प के कारण ही आज शीर्ष स्थान पर विराजमान हैं।
